Mom, can we talk?
WRITERS COLLECTIVE OF CANADA
I've had another workshop with the writers at WCC (Writers Collective of Canada) online. I'm discovering what needs to come out and written simply. It's been ages since I sat at my desk and let the words flow. It's a great feeling and do I need this. I didn't know how much. Here is another prompt-inspired writing.
Thanks for stopping by,
Mom, can we talk?
I’ve been missing mom
I wonder why she couldn’t be my angel
She was very young when she had me, I understand
Can you know love and give love when you need it so much
A child needs love that’s for sure, I needed to be
loved too
I must have had love from her but she seemed to want me to
be perfect
Something no one can be
Then she left Dad and that surprised and hurt me so hard
I don’t even know where to turn for answers
Mom, can we talk?
Maybe, just maybe you can become my angel, and I, yours
I love you
The damage in me is hidden well
Though she has an idea of what hurts and yearns in my heart as in
hers
Can’t blame her for all that’s gone wrong in my life
So it might be time to clear the air
Mom, can we talk?
I love you.
