I knew him from high school, where everyone was his friend. He didn't have the reputation of a popular student, yet everybody felt like navigating close to him gave them a real sense of security from the bullies. By the way, I saw the transformation of quite a few bullies in the years Devon walked or graced our school corridors is more accurate. He was not known to take advantage of this status, the befriender of all. The shy girls or boys would come out of their shells when he waved at them often stopping by to show genuine interest in them. I kept observing from afar, too shy to speak to him upfront. WRITERS COLLECTIVE OF CANADA Prompt: Write about something happy Hello everyone, I've been writing less lately; life gets in the way at times, but I'm not giving up. Today, the workshop was, as always, great. There are a lot of talented writers all over this big world. I'm so glad to take part in these inspiring workshops it's always a good feeling when I start and finish a workshop. We get so much inspiration; it is a community that helps me get my juices flowing.
